SUNNYVALE, CA, January 30, 2007 - ShoreTel, Inc., a leading provider of IP telephony solutions worldwide, today announced the availability of ShoreTel Developer Network 3.0 with enhanced APIs and sample code selection as well as a new ShoreTel Developer Newsgroup to further assist ShoreTel channel partners, integrators, software developers and end users in building advanced business solutions that leverage the ShoreTel IP phone systems.
Originally launched in February 2006, ShoreTel Developer Network is part of ShoreTel's initiative to fulfill the power of converged communications by making application integration more accessible to its customer base. This was first demonstrated in August 2006 with the announcement of packaged applications for sales force automation and E911 notification, which integrate phone capabilities into workflow and facilitate the work process. The ShoreTel Web Dialer is the newest packaged application available to ShoreTel system users. This application extends the convenience of ShoreTel one-click dialing to any web browser-based telephone number.
ShoreTel Developer Network membership provides an easy and reliable way to leverage ShoreTel's open platform to create rich interfaces. Using the tools included with Developer Network membership, ShoreTel partners can create both custom and packaged solutions for customers.

The annual, fee-based ShoreTel Developer Network membership gives developers access to a wealth of critical tools to ensure their success at writing high quality, custom software solutions to enhance business processes like automating routine tasks, personalizing call handling or integrating other systems.
ShoreTel Developer Network tools include the ShoreTel COM Object with over 100 methods, properties, and events to simplify development and trim the time to deploy the software. In addition to full source code, the ShoreTel COM Object also contains many desktop and server sample applications. Using the ShoreTel COM Object, advanced application developers can build applications that interact directly with callers through media and DTMF digits for touchtone phones.

ShoreTel's E911 Notification application supplements the native 911 support built into the ShoreTel system with in-house emergency notification and communication to mobilize on-site response activities until public responders arrive. ShoreTel's Web Dialer automatically identifies and highlights all telephone numbers found on any web page and allows a ShoreTel user to dial them with the click of a mouse.
