ShoreTel Opens New Asia Hub in Singapore

Telephony specialist Dean Hodgson appointed regional director to drive adoption of unified communications across ASEAN

SINGAPORE,  9 March, 2011 – ShoreTel® (NASDAQ: SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple IP phone systems with fully integrated Unified Communications (UC), today announced the opening of a Singapore-based Asia hub and the appointment of industry specialist, Dean Hodgson as its ASEAN regional director.

Singapore was chosen as the location of ShoreTel’s Asia hub because it is a major commercial metropolis and is fast becoming the technology and IT services centre of Asia. Businesses in Singapore and the region face similar challenges of operating in multi-office, multi-location environments. The hub will enable these businesses to realize the significant workplace productivity gains from ShoreTel’s IP telephony solution which fully integrates voice, video, data, and mobile communications across multiple sites with ease.

Located in Suntec City, the ShoreTel facility includes a fully equipped training centre as well as a demonstration suite to showcase ShoreTel’s latest UC solutions and enterprise mobility offerings.

According to Vasili Triant, ShoreTel managing director Asia Pacific, the ShoreTel Asia hub will draw on the resources of 27 technical and sales personnel across the region to provide resellers and distributors with the technical training, certification, and channel sales support required to continue expanding UC adoption in Asia.

A key component of ShoreTel’s Asia growth plans is the creation of a strong distribution channel that includes new partnership developments in Singapore and elsewhere in the region. ShoreTel has already entered into agreements with major ASEAN resellers including 3D Networks, Ntegrator, and Teledata. The company is expected to add additional channel partners to its portfolio in coming months to address the growing demand for its UC solutions throughout ASEAN.

Driving ShoreTel’s partner and customer acquisition in the region is industry specialist, Dean Hodgson who will be focused on providing ASEAN businesses with ShoreTel’s award-winning UC solution that delivers one of the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the industry.

For the second quarter of fiscal year 2011, ShoreTel announced its global revenue was $47.7 million, a 35 percent increase from the second quarter of fiscal year 2010. As of Dec. 31, 2010, the company had $105.4 million in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments.
